📄 “Maritime digitalization and PSC compliance: evidence from Greece”
This study investigates how telemetry-based digital tools can significantly improve:
✔️ Port State Control (PSC) performance
✔️ Vessel compliance
✔️ Maintenance efficiency
✔️ Operational cost reduction
Using empirical data from a fleet of bulk carriers, we compared operational performance before and after the implementation of digital monitoring systems. The findings demonstrate measurable reductions in PSC deficiencies and vessel detentions following digitalization adoption.
The research highlights the growing importance of data-driven decision-making and digital transformation in enhancing maritime safety and operational excellence.
